Syria Neutral in Foreign Policy
DAMASCUS, Nov 10 (Reuters)
Syria which broke away from the United Arab Republic two months ago, will have a foreign policy based on positive neutrality and nonalignment, it was announced today.
The policy was contained in a “national unity charter” hammered out by 62 leading Syrians, including Prime Minister Mamoun Kuzbari, during an 11-hour meeting that ended at dawn.
The charter, which defined policy for the forthcoming 4-year parliamentary session, pledged support for the liberation of “usurped land” in Palestine, Algeria, the Persian gulf state of Oman and “all occupied parts of the Arab homeland”.
